Greece backs off referendum, as concern grows for Italy

Greece is in turmoil and the world economy in limbo after Prime Minister George Papandreou apparently abandoned his explosive plan to put a European rescue deal to a referendum.

Greece's government was prepped to allow its citizens a voice concerning a bailout. Given low support by the peasants for increasing the power of the banking cartel, it's no wonder that the offer to choose our own destiny is being rescinded.
