DieBold actually said that if they are allowed the contract for all voting machines they could guarantee who would win. Because everybody in government is on the ballot this did not go over very well. They also said that it was impossible to have a paper tape output. One Senator said "All cash registers have a paper receipt why can't a voting machine?" But I must say that one of the things that I am passionate about is open source. If a voting machine was open source then anybody could look at the code to see if the machine has been rigged. But the state of software patents prevents this. Thank you Bill Gates and Steve Jobs and all the other super rich controllers of the machine...
